Video stills for rainy days
Just like the songs, they tell a story. And just like the melodies can move us, each frame has the potential of awakening something deep inside us. In Lord’s “Perfect places” we always see her alone in the video, yet in the song she uses plural pronouns. In Okay Kaya’s “IUD” we hear her singing about what you expect is her boyfriend, but in the music video she shares her bed with another version of herself - which later drags her by her hair. Ama Lou have chosen to make a 13 minute music video, where three of her songs fit together, forming a story only serrated by different video frame lines. Exploring the beautiful art of cinematography in music videos is worth it, although it’s perhaps forgotten by this generation.
